Academic Travel

Our academic travel program creates the opportunity for experiential and spiritual learning through travel. Each year, students embark on a week-long adventure with their class and their teachers. Spending time outdoors and being immersed in other cultures opens students’ minds, fosters independence, and broadens their perspective and understanding of our faith. These formative encounters are a central part of the Nativity academic journey. Students are changed by the experience and bond as a community by embarking on them together.

Each grade enjoys a unique travel experience designed to enrich their growth in faith and character:

  • Freshmen: Backpacking in Moab, Utah

  • Sophomores: Kayaking in Tomales Bay, California

  • Juniors: Serving children outside Tijuana, Mexico

  • Seniors: Walking the Camino de Santiago, Spain

Moab, Utah

Freshmen embark on a six-day academic expedition to Moab, Utah, alongside their teachers. Immersed in the desert landscape, students step outside their usual routines and discover the challenges and rewards of life in the wilderness, fostering resilience and a deeper appreciation for God’s creation.

Tomales Bay

Sophomores embark on a five-day kayaking adventure through the scenic waters of Tomales Bay, along the shores of Marshall Beach. Surrounded by stunning coastal views, students navigated the waters together, developing their kayaking skills and learning to adapt to changing conditions.
