2026 Opening Retreat

The 2026 Opening Retreat gave our students an opportunity to build community, learn more about Nativity culture, and begin the school year by growing together as a class. Throughout the retreat, students stepped outside their comfort zones through physical challenges such as ziplining and obstacle courses, while also enjoying games and activities, including the ever-popular “Gladiator.”

Beyond the physical challenges and games, the retreat created space for students to learn what it means to be part of the Nativity brotherhood and sisterhood. Around the campfire, students listened to intimate reflections from their teachers and had the opportunity to strengthen friendships and build deeper connections with one another. And, of course, no retreat would be complete without s’mores!

The Opening Retreat is a cornerstone of building the culture and community at Nativity. It is a favorite experience for our students each year and one of the most rewarding opportunities for our teachers to welcome students into the new school year. We are grateful for the time spent together and look forward to carrying the spirit of community throughout the year!
